In the wake of a request by the Deputy Minister of Defense, Eli Ben-Dahan, a resident of Itamar who shot an Arab terrorist received back his personal weapon.
A week and a half ago, Arabs threw stones at an Itamar resident and attacked the man's car as he was returning from work.
During the course of the incident, which was defined by police as a terror attack, he shot dead a Palestinian who was involved in the incident.
The resident's weapon was taken in for investigation and was only returned to him after Ben-Dahan intervened in recent days with police, claiming that the man "drives on this road every day and needs his weapon to continue to protect his family."
