Organizers of yesterday\'s annual Salute to Israel parade say that up to a million people crowded New York City sidewalks to view the march. They say that the parade was among the most successful in its more than 30-year history. Many politicians and public figures also took part in the display of solidarity with Israel. Some 60,000 costumed marchers included representatives of public and private schools, local Jewish organizations and community centers, and others - many of them with professionally designed floats. After the parade, 25,000 attendees moved into Central Park for the 9th annual \"Post-Parade Israel Rally and Concert,\" organized by the National Council of Young Israel. Interspersed with world-renowned singers Avraham Fried and Dudu Fischer were speakers Israeli Minister Effie Eitam and Hevron spokesman David Wilder, in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the liberation of Jerusalem.
