The IDF carried out extensive security-related activity last night in Judea and Samaria with a number of arrests of wanted persons.
Forces arrested 17 Arabs in villages across Judea and Samaria. Sixteen of these are suspected of terror-related activity, while one of these is a member of the outlawed Hamas terror organization.
All those arrested were transferred to security forces for interrogation.
During one arrest operation in the refugee camp of Balata near Shechem, Arabs threw explosives at IDF forces. Forces responded with fire. No soldiers were wounded.
In addition, the IDF continued last night to crack down on the possession of illegal weapons by Arabs in the Judea and Samaria region. In a joint operation o Israeli Police and Shin Bet forces, an M-16 assault rifle was confiscated from the home of a suspect in the village of Hirvat Al-Carmel near Hevron. Likewise, ammunition and additional combat equipment was found in the house.
