Both the United States Senate and House of Representatives passed resolutions on Thursday showing strong support for Israel’s war on Arab terror. The Senate vote passed by a vote of 94-2, while the House approved an even stronger version by a count of 352-21. Both resolutions condemned Palestinian suicide attacks and stated that the United States remains committed to Israel’s right to self-defense.
Going one step further, four members of the US House of Representatives - Reps. Peter Deutsch (D-FL), Joseph M. Hoeffel (D-PA), Jack Kingston (R-GA), and Jim Saxton (R-NJ) - arrived in Israel over the weekend for a four-day solidarity mission. The group will be meeting with Israeli government officials and will be visiting victims of terror and their families.
While many pro-Israel groups have praised U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX) for his recent remarks on MSNBC in favor of Israel’s right to the entire Land of Israel - he even recommended that all Arab residents leave and create a new homeland in one of the Arab countries - he has been forced to backtrack a bit. Michael Freund, who served as Deputy Director of Communications & Policy Planning in the Office of the Prime Minister [Netanyahu] from 1996 to 1999, told Arutz-7 today that Administration officials \"immediately fell all over him, and within an hour he issued a correction saying that he didn\'t mean that all Arabs should leave, but rather only terrorists…\" Armey continues to be known as a staunch supporter of Israel.
