Three Israelis are under arrest on suspicion of having organized a conspiracy to harm Arabs - but no further details are permitted to be publicized. The three are not allowed to meet with family members or lawyers, but one of them was able to whisper to his wife when they passed in the courtroom that he was being tortured. \"He appeared to be very weak, physically,\" one of his relatives, Amichai, told Arutz-7 today, \"and could barely lift his shackled hand to wave.\"

Amichai, one of several people who demonstrated in Jerusalem today on behalf of the three, said, \"Our primary demand is first of all for basic civil human rights. They should be able to meet with their lawyers… We do not know exactly what type of torture is going on there, but we assume that it\'s not only psychological… We know of previous cases, such as with Lt. Oren Edri [who was arrested in Sept. 1994 on similar charges, and was tortured, starved, and left in a rat-infested cell; he was later cleared of all charges], in which the charges ultimately came to nothing…\" Amichai even raised the possibility, based on previous cases, that the GSS itself might be involved in framing the suspects.
