Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman on Tuesday suggested that Arab MKs from the Joint List belong in the Palestinian Authority (PA) parliament instead of in the Knesset, due to their continuing anti-Israel activities and statements.

His remarks came in a Facebook message in honor of Victory Day, which takes place on May 9 and commemorates the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany.

"This is a unique day, because without this victory it is very doubtful that the State of Israel would have been established," Liberman wrote. "A million and a half Jews fought in the ranks of the Red Army and the British and American armies, and in addition, tens of thousands fought in the ranks of the partisans and the French Resistance."

The Defense Minister noted that the Warsaw Ghetto uprising is an inseparable part of the history of World War II, and one of the outstanding examples of Jewish heroism in history.

"The Jewish Yishuv also contributed its part, in the form of the parachutists who landed on enemy lines, and of course the fighters of the Jewish Brigade, who fought in the ranks of the British army. It is important to remember that even then the Nazis had a loyal and active ally in the region, in the image of Mufti Amin al-Husseini,” he wrote.

"Today, too,” continued Liberman, “the Mufti's successors are trying to destroy the State of Israel and harm the Jewish people. Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al-Qaeda, the Islamic state, Sheikh Raed Salah and members of the Knesset from the Joint List, who support the families of the ‘shaheeds’ – they all express hatred of the Jewish people, just like their predecessors. These Knesset members should not be sitting in the Israeli Knesset but in the Palestinian parliament, where they belong."

These MKs, Liberman stressed, “are an inseparable part of the axis of evil, which includes the Ayatollah regime from Tehran, the Assad regime, and Hezbollah. Just as the forces of evil were defeated in World War II, so we can overcome them and defeat them."

Despite being elected members of Israel’s parliament, Arab MKs have continuously acted against the interests of the state.

Last year, for example, three Joint List MKs visited with families of terrorists who murdered Israelis and later defended their actions.

Recent examples have included Arab MKs openly defying an order from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu not to visit the Temple Mount, while also urging Arabs to prevent Jews from visiting the site.

One video clip sent to Arutz Sheva showed MK Ahmed Tibi actually striking an Israel Police officer on the Mount - a criminal offense - while another MK, Jamal Zahalka, "orders" police to leave the site.
