Four US Congressmen will pay a solidarity visit to Israel beginning tomorrow night. The four are Jim Saxton (R-New Jersey), Peter Deutsch (D-Fla.), James Hoeffel (D-Penn.), and Jack Kingston (Ga.). One of their stops will be at the home of a family of a recent terrorist-attack victim.
The annual Salute To Israel Parade, the single largest gathering in the world in support of Israel, will celebrate the 54th Anniversary of the State of Israel on May 5, 2002 on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Organizers say that this year\'s theme, “Israel and America, Now and Forever, United We Stand”, will \"reflect the importance of the connection between Israel and the United States as we pay tribute to our heroes.\" The Parade features 60,000 costumed marchers representing public and private schools; groups from Jewish organizations and community centers; high school marching bands; and professionally designed floats sponsored by private companies and Jewish organizations.
