Anticipation is great among Likud members throughout the country, and particularly in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, as the party prepares for its Central Committee Convention next week. The suspense is particularly great in light of two issues. The first is the competition between Prime Minister Sharon and his predecessor - and possible successor - Binyamin Netanyahu. The other major topic is the party\'s stand vis-a-vis the formation of a Palestinian state. Sharon has said that he is in favor of such a state, albeit demilitarized and with other restrictions, but much of the party membership, including Netanyahu, is against.
