A crowd estimated officially at 25,000 - some participants thought the number was twice that amount - gathered in Chicago on Sunday to show support for Israel and its campaign to uproot Arab terrorism. The 32nd annual Walk With Israel rally saw its biggest turnout ever - last year only 10,000 attended - with groups bused in from all over the region to show solidarity and raise money for playground equipment for Israeli schoolchildren. Speakers included Israeli Minister Roni Milo and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.); the latter said, \"In Israel, each dawn seems to bring a new 9/11, another burden, another tragedy, to a country that has already seen too many. But you will not grieve alone, you will not stand alone... The U.S. will always be with you.\"

In Detroit, too, about 2,000 people braved cold and inclement weather to rally on behalf of Israel, including three Michigan Congressmen and other local leaders. A similar rally took place in Houston, Texas some days before that, with close to 2,000 people - including many Christian supporters of Israel - in attendance.
