The Israel Police foreign press spokesman reported that dozens of students from the Arab Bir Zeit University near Ramallah arrived at the Bitunia crossing yesterday and were involved in riots against security officers on patrol in the area. Border Police in the area arrested 5 suspects at the scene.

This is the second week in a row of organized demonstrations that have turned into riots. Several organized buses from Bir Zeit University made their way to the area and the passengers then took part in the riots against the security forces.

The suspects arrested are residents of nearby villages in the Nablus area, four in their 20s and one a minor.

Police and IDF Border Patrol units continue to work to prevent and control rioting and disturbances in the area.‏
