Palestinian terrorists are now concentrating on attacks on a larger scale than Israel has ever known - \"Satanic,\" one security source called them. One such attack was thwarted over the weekend when Israeli forces, acting on intelligence information that Israel had previously transferred to the U.S., raided the PLO-controlled city of Kalkilye and found the carbomb that was to be used to blow up a Tel Aviv skyscraper. Three terrorists were killed and 46 more were arrested, including wanted terrorists, during the IDF raid in the Kalkilye terrorist stronghold. One of those killed was local PFLP head Mussa Ibrahim Nazal, who was responsible for the suicide murders at the Karnei Shomron pizzeria that killed three Israeli teenagers. The IDF also uncovered bomb-making factories and explosives during the operation.

A heavily-armed Moslem terrorist crossed the Jordanian border into Israel this morning and attempted to infiltrate into one of the Jordan Valley communities. An IDF force, tipped off to his presence by intelligence sources, shot and seriously wounded the terrorist. He was carrying more than one weapon and much ammunition.

Although there were no signs of a narrowing gap in the two sides\' positions, representatives of Israel and the PA sat down for a meeting this afternoon regarding the nearly four-week long Church of the Nativity standoff. In accordance with expectations, no progress was made. The armed Arabs inside the building continue to hold clergymen hostage until they are allowed to pass freely to Gaza. Israel, however, insists that they must either give themselves up or agree to be deported to a foreign country forever.
