Alert Border Guard policeman thwarted a major car-bomb attack outside Jerusalem late last night. They noticed a suspicious vehicle at a checkpoint along the Minharot (Tunnels) Highway. When they approached the car, the Arab driver got out and ran for cover, seconds before the very large explosive went off. The soldiers succeeded in killing him, but not before he attacked them with rocks and other objects.

Michael Widlanski, a senior analyst for The Media Line, says that the Arab was actually trying to blow up one of the tunnels along the main artery between Gush Etzion and Jerusalem. “Despite the recent Israeli military operation,\" Widlanski said, \"the terror infrastructure of the Palestinians in Yesha (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza) has not been destroyed.”
