Israel security forces made several notable gains in their continuing war against Palestinian terrorism yesterday and today:
* They arrested 13 wanted terrorists in Kalandia, just north of Jerusalem, including
** William Kadari, one of the murderers of the Kahane couple (Rabbi Binyamin Ze’ev and Talia, who were killed 17 months ago and left six children under the age of 12),
** Abdul Al-Majid, the murderer of Gadi Rejwan (the philanthropist businessman who was killed in Atarot two months ago),
** Marwan Barghouti’s aide, Abu Hamad,
** terrorists who took part in the triple-attack at Haramiya 17 months ago, and
** terrorists who took part in the double-lynching in Ramallah at the beginning of the Oslo War.
* They arrested 14 other terrorist suspects in Dehaishe, south of Bethlehem. Also in Dehaishe, an 18-year-old girl who wished to end her life with the murder of as many Israelis as possible was caught early this morning before she could carry out her plans. Her father was also arrested.
* An Israeli-Arab was indicted today on charges of terrorism. The man, Ziad Ja\'abrin of Um el -Fahm, is charged with driving a suicide terrorist to Karkur, near Pardes Chana. The would-be murderer was equipped with an explosives vest and a booby-trapped dove\'s coop, but was caught before he could detonate them.
* In the Shomron village of Asira a-Shimalia, two wanted terrorists were killed in a gun battle with Israeli forces.
The Palestinians, too, continue their own war - the war of terrorism against Israel. Gaza in particular continues to be the site of many attempted Arab attacks, and Palestinian violence was also attempted elsewhere today:
* Terrorists hurled an explosive device at soldiers in downtown Hevron this morning; no one was hurt, and IDF soldiers returned fire…
* Arab gunmen opened fire at soldiers at the Gush Katif Junction this afternoon, as well as at the community of Rafiach Yam. No one was hurt…
* About 100 grenades were thrown at Israeli soldiers in Rafiach, on the Israeli-Egyptian border, last night…
* A terrorist attempted to infiltrate Dugit, in northern Gaza, last night. He was shot and killed. This was the second such incident there in the past few days…
* Two armed Arabs were killed in a heavy exchange of fire that they and their colleagues began against Israeli forces last night near Kfar Darom, also in Gaza…
* Two other Arabs, apparently headed for Netzarim, were also shot and killed by Israeli forces this morning…
Border Guard policeman Uriel Bar-Maimon, who was killed by a Palestinian terrorist in northern Gaza two days ago, was buried in Ashkelon at 3 PM this afternoon.
The Egyptian security forces arrested five people in the course of attempting to infiltrate into Israel and perpetrate terrorist attacks here. One of them was a woman who planned a suicide attack in Taba. The Egyptians are reportedly planning to release the five without putting them on trial.
The last of the six victims of the Machaneh Yehuda suicide bombing ten days ago have been positively identified. They are Lin Chin Mai, 34, and Chai Zin Chang, 32, Chinese citizens who worked in Israel.
