The IDF is demanding that the Egged Bus Cooperative use bulletproof buses on its lines from the capital to Tiberias and Kiryat Shmona. Senior military personnel stated that in light of the increasing number of gunfire attacks against public buses on those routes, bulletproof vehicles must be utilized to ensure the safety of passengers. The buses travel via the Jordan Valley, an area now prone to shooting attacks. Military officials also report that bulletproof vans will be distributed for use throughout Yesha, to accommodate transportation needs of special education children and other services. The report added that an additional 2,000 bulletproof vests would be distributed to Yesha communities as the PA war continues.
