The Hevron Jewish community dedicated the newly-renovated Shavei Hevron yeshiva building today. Communications Minister Ruby Rivlin was on hand for the event, as well as thousands of Jews who came to celebrate another festive day of Passover with the Jewish community there. Spokesman Noam Arnon told Arutz-7 that the Beit Romano building was refurbished to house the yeshiva. \"Beit Romano was originally built by a Jewish immigrant from Turkey, Avraham Yisrael Romano, and was called the \'Istanbuli\'. It initially served as a home, a study hall and a synagogue,\" Arnon explained.
He also described the public turnout in Hevron as \"above and beyond all expectations. We feared, that given our difficult situation, people would be hesitant to come here. But that\'s not what happened. A cross-section of Jews: men, women, children, elderly people have come in large numbers to rejoice with us.\"
