Ayelet Lash, a 27-year old popular internet personality from Samaria, shared in a Facebook post the details of a terrorist attack in which she was nearly murdered by a stone-throwing Arab Thursday morning.
Masked Arab youths hurled stones at Lash's car as she drove down Route 60 north of Jerusalem, smashing her windshield. Fortunately, Lash was not physically harmed and was able to continue to drive away from the scene.
"So much shattered glass," she wrote on Facebook shortly after the attack. "My whole body is shaking. Arabs tried to kill me. God saved me...it's 2016. I'm crying from the shock and despair."
After the attack, Lash called the police, but was told simply to drive to a police station and fill out a formal report of the incident.
"'Go to a police station and submit a complaint,' the officer tells me over the phone. But will it help? Will they catch the terrorist?"
Lash, a resident of Rehelim and mother of three, has survived previous terror attacks on the same road. A few months ago, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at her car.
Lash filed a complaint with the police over the attack, but she does not believe that the terrorist will be punished appropriately, assuming he is even caught in the first place. "I said to the officer, 'I wonder what would happen if I stood and threw a stone at an Arab on this road. It would be the end of my life. They'd hold me in jail until I was [aged] 120."
"It can't continue this way." she concluded. "It's impossible to live with your enemies, allowing them to drive alongside you, and then have them (throw) stones at you. There is no reason for Arabs to travel on this road...If there is a reason for the Arabs to be here it is to continue to kill us. And the politicians are silent."
