The Israel Prison Service parole board will meet in December to review former President Moshe Katsav's request for an early release from prison, Channel 2 reported. Katsav is currently serving a seven year sentence for rape.

This is the third time that the parole board will hear Katsav's request, despite the fact that Katsav has not expressed remorse or participated in any rehabilitation programs because he did not admit to committing the crime of which he was accused. The court, however, believed the plaintiff's version of what occurred between the two.

Three months ago, the parole board unanimously rejected the request to shorten his sentence after much public discussion of the issue, with feminist groups vehemently opposing any reprieve for the former president. Katsav was put on suicide watch following the decision not to grant him an early release in August.

Katsav continues to deny all claims of rape against him.
