Israeli police on Sunday arrested a 20-year old Jewish man from the Jerusalem area, following allegations that he and several companions attacked an Arab man near a Moshav on the outskirts of Jerusalem.
The incident allegedly took place late Friday afternoon on September 16th next to Even Sapir, a Moshav just west of Jerusalem.
An Arab worker claims he was attacked by a group of young Jews after he finished work in the Moshav and was on his way home. His assailants, he said, then fled in a vehicle after the attack.
Police were called to the scene, where they gathered evidence which they say led to Sunday’s arrest.
The suspect was taken in for questioning on Sunday, and on Monday was brought before a judge to have his arrest extended. The court accepted the police request, and extended the suspect's arrested until Wednesday.
