Coalition members have come out in force against the Supreme Court ruling to destroy Netiv Ha'avot, a neighborhood of Elazar, in the Gush Etzion region.
Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) finds the ruling intolerable.
"The Supreme Court's ruling to destroy 17 homes in Gush Etzion is very serious," Bennett said.
"Extreme leftist bodies, which despaired of persuading the nation of the 'need' to establish a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria...are taking advantage of the legal system...to force the policies of a minority on the majority.
"When the Supreme Court [approves something like this], it erodes public confidence," he said scathingly.
Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) added that "the decision of the justices of the Supreme Court is very puzzling to me, since specifically in Netiv Ha'avot, we found a solution, through an agreement, which was backed by the state."
"In a working democracy, the parliament is the sovereign, and the government is the one who sets policy." - and not the Supreme Court, Ariel implied.
The ruling is "outrageous," according to Environmental Protection Minister Zeev Elkin (Likud), who insists this is "crossing red lines."
"It shows the total disconnect of the Supreme Court from the common sense and historical and heritage values of the nation of Israel."
"We have learned again of the urgent need for fundamental reform of the Israeli legal system. I call on the Justice Minister to lead a far-reaching reform in order to restore the trust of the Israeli public in the Supreme Court," Minister Elkin asserted.
