Israel\'s withdrawal from Tul Karem earlier this week, at the behest of the American government and others, seems to have led directly to the deaths yesterday of eight young Jews aboard a bus in the Haifa area. The bus was blown up by a Moslem suicide bomber from Tul Karem, who would assumedly not have been able to perpetrate the attack had the Israeli forces remained in Tul Karem.

Prime Minister Sharon paid a morale-boosting visit to soldiers at an army base outside Jenin yesterday. He told his troops that Israel will not withdraw from any area until the Palestinian militias there are crushed. He added that if Israel were to act otherwise, the phenomenon of suicide bombings \"could spread like a plague around the world.” Sharon received repeated applause from the soldiers. He repeated today, \"We are not leaving Jenin, Shechem, Ramallah, and the other places until all the terrorists there surrender.\"
