A French bar has drawn controversy with a new alcoholic beverage that some claim shows a lack of sensitivity.
The Sunset Boulevard bar in Paris now features a drink called the “Gas Chamber”, Yediot Ahronot reported, leading the Paris-based website Europe-Israel to publicize the name and call out the bar for its distasteful name.
The website has also called upon readers to inundate the bar with complaints, in the hopes that owner Paul Hyber will alter the offensive name or strike it from the list of advertised drinks.
No explanation of the relationship of the drink to its bizarre name has been offered, and thus far the bar has yet to remove the name from menu.
