The Brussels airport which was targeted by suicide bombers in March has declared two bomb alerts Wednesday, local news media have reported.
Belgium’s VRT reports that two airplanes on route to the Zaventem airport may be carrying bombs, and emergency forces are on the scene. A Belgian federal official has stated that the “threat is serious enough to take action”.
One man claiming to be a passenger on one of the two flights said the aircraft, which had originated in Oslo, Norway, had a bomb threat 20 minutes prior to landing. He followed up the tweet saying the plane had landed safely.
VRT has confirmed that both flights have landed safely in Brussels.
