The six-month old baby found dead in a car in Arad's industrial zone on Tuesday has been identified as Be'er Horowitz.

The child was the daughter of Natan and Avital Horowitz, and granddaughter of Danny and Adina Weiss, residents of the town of Sussiya in the south Hevron area.

The funeral has been scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sussiya cemetery.

According to the initial investigation Be'er was left in her grandmother's car after she had dropped off the child's mother, Avital Horowitz, and went to work.

After several hours the grandmother returned to the car and found the child unconscious and with no vital signs. Emergency responders were called to the scene, but they were unable to resuscitate the child.

Senior medic Yisrael Katz and paramedic Boris Menato related, "when we arrived at the scene we found an unconscious six-month year old baby, not breathing and without pulse. After she was extricated from the locked vehicle, in which she had been for an extended period of time, we gave her medical treatment and employed extended resuscitation procedures. She was very hot and had suffered serious heat stroke."
