A six-month old baby was pronounced dead after she was forgotten today (Tuesday) in a car in the industrial sector of Arad.

At around 1:54 p.m. Magen David Adom was notified that a baby had spent an extended period of time in a locked car, and appeared to have lost consciousness. Paramedics gave emergency medical aid on the scene, and after efforts at resuscitation failed, were forced to pronounce her dead.

Senior medic Yisrael Katz and paramedic Boris Menato related, "when we arrived at the scene we found an unconscious six-month year old baby, not breathing and without pulse. After she was extricated from the locked vehicle, in which she had been for an extended period of time, we gave her medical treatment and employed extended resuscitation procedures. She was very hot and had suffered serious heat stroke."

The last occurrence of a forgotten child in a car was three weeks ago. A year and eight-month-old child and a three year old child were forgotten in a car for several hours in one of the villages of the Al Kasum region in the Negev Desert. Paramedics arriving at the scene employed resuscitation efforts, and were finally forced to pronounce their deaths.

A month and a half ago A year-and-a-half old baby was forgotten in a locked car in Ashdod. An investigation of the incident found that the baby's father had forgotten to drop off the baby in daycare and had left the baby in the car for three hours. When the father returned to the car he found his son without signs of life.
