A claim has been filed against three yeshiva students for allegedly smuggling ecstasy pills from Germany into Israel, and with the consent of the parties, the court approved to extend their arrest for five days.

The Yeshiva students have been accused of flying to Germany, purchasing ecstasy pills, and attempting to sneak them into Israel. However, customs agents discovered the 6 kg (13.2 lbs.) of drugs after they landed in Ben Gurion Airport.

Among the accused is a 25-year old residents of Bnei Brak and a 22-year old from Beitar Illit, south of Jerusalem.

The third and final member of the smuggling ring, a 25-year-old resident of Bnei Brak and student at the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem, is believed by police to have planned the long-running smuggling operation.
