Tonight begins the commemoration of Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day. The theme for this year’s special day is “Their Last Voice: Letters and Testaments from Jews in the Holocaust.” The Official Opening Ceremony of the memorial day will take place tonight at 8:00 PM, at the Warsaw Ghetto Square, in the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem.



President Moshe Katsav, and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will participate in the ceremony, and Mr. Avner Shalev, Chairman of the Yad Vashem Directorate, will kindle the Holocaust Memorial Torch.



During the ceremony the official memorial service will take place. Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau will recite Psalms, and the Rishon L’Tzion Chief Rabbi, Eliyahu Bakshi Doron will recite the Kaddish prayer.
