Lies against Israel and the Jewish people are running rampant, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned at the official Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony Wednesday night, at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.

"Nazi German rule was eliminated 71 years ago, but anti-Semitism and lies did not die with Hitler in that Berlin bunker," Netanyahu began. "Millions of people in the Muslim world read and hear lies and threats to the Jewish people."

''They say that Jews are descendants of apes and pigs, that the Jews drink the blood of their enemies," he continued. "These lies spread on social networks, in a way Hitler and Goebbels couldn't have imagined."

Radical Islam started the lies, he said, but it has joined forces recently with the West - including MPs in Sweden, Britain, and France.

"Just two weeks ago, UNESCO ruled that the Temple Mount - Har Hamoriah - has no connection to the Jewish people," he said. "Pay attention to what is happening here. A global organization tasked with preserving history is casually rewriting a basic fact of human history."

"This is willful ignorance," he continued. "Worse still - it's an addiction to lying, and it's disseminated throughout the world until it's accepted as fact."
