As hundreds of thousands of Israelis flood the country's national parks and beaches Sunday, in honor of the first day of Chol HaMoed Pesach (the Intermediate Days of Passover), dozens of rescue cases were reported.

A man was extracted after falling during a hike at Temarim River near the Dead Sea. Rescue units lifted him from an 80 meter (87 yards) depth and an ambulance team evacuated the lightly injured man to a hospital.

Another hiker was injured as a result of falling rocks and a collapsing tree in the Ein Prat Nature Reserve near the town of Anatot in Binyamin. Parametics evacuated the moderately injured man to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.

As a result, Israel Police decided to evacuate all the hikers and close down the Nature Preserve until after the National Parks Authority conclude their examination and determine the park poses no danger to public safety.

Other rescue reports included a young man who was evacuated from Ein Ekev via helicopter after falling and injuring his back, a hiker who broke his leg in a nature reserve in the Golan Heights, and dehydration and heat-stroke victims.

The Keren Kayemet LeYisrael (KKL or JNF) and Magen David Adom teams remind the public to be cautious and courteous during their travels throughout the country.
