Palestinian Muslim terrorists escalated their shooting attacks at Jerusalem\'s southern neighborhood of Gilo this weekend by firing a mortar shell. It significantly damaged a building, but caused no injuries. In response, IDF forces took over the town of Beit Jala, between Jerusalem and Bethlehem, from where fire has long been launched at both Gilo and the Tunnels Highway leading to Gush Etzion.

Army forces also took over parts of Bituniya, just west of Ramallah, and surrounded the headquarters of PA security chief Jibril Rajoub. The IDF demanded that he surrender the wanted terrorist fugitives inside, including, according to some reports, Tanzim head Marwan Barghouti, as well as some 400 armed militiamen; Rajoub responded brazenly that he would surrender no one and would fight to the last bullet.
