Tzvika Cohen, the 48-year-old security guard who was viciously attacked by an ax-wielding terrorist at a mall in Ma’ale Adumim, is showing signs of improvement.

Cohen was severely wounded in the attack. He remains hospitalized at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. He is currently in moderate and stable condition.

The hospital announced on Tuesday that Cohen is being treated by a medical team in the hospital’s neurosurgical intensive care unit, is fully conscious, and will soon begin a lengthy rehabilitation process.

Cohen’s family requests the public to continue praying for the full and speedy recovery of Tzvika ben Batya.

Cohen, a husband and father of four children from Ma’ale Adumim, was employed by the “Nof Yam” security company for two years. Last month, on the night of the horrific terror attack, Cohen responded to a colleague’s request to switch shifts.

“Tzvika has a heart of gold, and when a friend asks him for a favor, he agrees,” Cohen’s brother said.

According to the brother, the terrorist asked Tzvika to open the door to the mall for him. As soon as Tzvika approached the door, the terrorist, standing behind him, took advantage of the opportunity and used an ax to stab Cohen in the head, neck, hand and legs without a moment’s rest.

The Arab terrorist responsible for the cruel attack was an employee of the Ma’ale Adumim mall. A few hours after the attack, one of the terrorist’s relatives called the Police Department’s hotline, 100, and turned his family member in to the security forces, leading to the terrorist’s arrest.
