A body that was found on Saturday in the Hudson River has been confirmed to be that of Rabbi Duvid Mordcha Arenowitz who went missing two months ago.

After weeks of searching, the 46-year-old father of three was confirmed dead after his dental records were matched at the medical examiner’s office.

Despite astronomical expenses to locate the body, no efforts were spared. The most highly regarded engineers, divers, underwater scanners and robots were employed running up costs of $10,000 per day.

Arenowitz’s family, that can now finally sit shiva (the initial seven-day period of intense mourning), issued a heartfelt expression of gratitude to all those involved in the search for the body during the last two months.

Donations to help the family cover the costly operation can be made here.
