French authorities have detained four people suspected of planning an "imminent" terror attack in Paris, Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve told Reuters.

The group includes three men and one woman, who were arrested early this morning (Wednesday). All four are believed to have connections with radical Islam.

The arrests occurred in Paris's 18th arrondissement, the same district in which a police station was attacked in January, and the Seine-Saint-Denis suburb, where the believed mastermind behind the ISIS attack was found and killed.

Police found an unused rifle cartridge in one suspect's home.

At least one of the group, identified as Youssef E., has a criminal record. In March 2014 he was sentenced to five years in prison for attempting to join a terror group in Syria, French TV station TF1 reports..

Tensions are still high in Paris with regards to terror, following November's attack that left 130 people dead. Yesterday, French police officers took part in a raid on suspected terrorists in Brussels. A firefight broke out with at least two suspects, one of whom was killed. Officials say that a search of the house revealed ammunition for a Kalashnikov rifle and extremist literature.
