MK Zehava Galon, who heads the ultra-leftist Meretz party, issued a rare denunciation of Arab MKs Monday, after the Hadash and Balad parties within the Arab Joint List issued formal condemnations of the decision by Arab Gulf states to classify Hezbollah as a terror group.

“The decision by Balad and Hadash to fight against defining Hezbollah as a terror organization marks a moral low,” she wrote on Facebook. “Hezbollah is a murderous and fundamentalist organization that systematically employs indiscriminate violence. An organization that is responsible for the deaths of many tens of Israelis, and that has been murdering innocent Syrians daily in the last few years, in service of Assad.”

Unlike the Israeli government, which has reportedly warmed ties with the Saudis in recent months, Galon added that she has “zero sympathy for the Saudis who put forth the decision regarding Hezbollah, and whose hands are no less full of the blood of Syrian civilians, but all this does not explain the insistence of Israeli parties to defend a group that sanctifies death and that declares that its aim is to annihilate the state of Israel and massacre Israeli civilians.”

“Shame,” she concluded.

Looking for flying pigs
A group inside the Labor party that seeks to fight its ultra-leftist bent published Galon’s monologue on its Facebook page and noted: “At first we thought someone had broken into MK Zehava Galon’s Facebook account, and then we went to check if pigs have begun flying.”

The group added that it was glad to discover that Galon appears to be “waking up” and setting some limits to the leftist radicalism in her party, and that it hoped this signaled a similar sobering up in Labor.

It should be noted, however, that Galon is considered very close to MK Ahmed Tibi, who heads the Ra’am-Ta’al faction in the Arab Joint List. Therefore, her attack on his rivals may not be as earth-shattering at it first seemed.
