The District Attorney’s office of Israel's Central Region presented the Ramle Magistrate’s Court with an indictment letter against Modi’in resident Eliyahu Eliav Muallem, 27, who posted “inciting remarks on Facebook”.

The indictment letter, which was ratified by Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, accuses Muallem of multiple infractions of incitement to violence and racism and one count of harassment.

Furthermore, during the months of June and July 2014, Muallem posted repeated calls for the public to take violent actions against Arab-Israelis as well as Palestinians in Israel. He is charged with publishing statements with the intention of inciting violence and racism against them.

Muallem also called for violent activities to be taken against MK Hanin Zoabi (Balad/Joint List) and left-wing extremist Jews while praising any such action.

All of his posts were sent as automatic updates to his 1280 friends, and they were likewise open to the public.

On the day that Mohammed Abu Khder was kidnapped, Muallem posted the following posts among other: “Death to all Arabs… Jews Unite! Bring on the next Arab death.” In a separate post he wrote, “It is good that the dead Arab was 16-years-old, hopefully the next dead Arabs will be younger.”

Muallem was also charged with harassing an Arab peer who studies with him in university.
