Alert IDF Golani Brigade soldiers thwarted a possible catastrophe last night. The troops were examining vehicles at a temporary checkpoint east of Hadera when they one Arab-driven car aroused their suspicions. As the soldiers approached the vehicle, the driver jumped out and fled the scene. Bomb squad technicians arrived and discovered that the car was wired with explosives. The car bomb was neutralized without incident. Security forces believe that the Arab was on his way to perpetrate a major attack inside pre-1967 Israel.

Three teenagers were murdered by a suicide terrorist in a pizza parlor in the above attack on February 16.
