Despite forecasts of possible rain in central and northern Israel tonight, Israel has basically marked off this winter as a lost cause. Even the traditional winter prayers for rain will end this Sunday, in recognition that the spring/summer has begun. The Interior Ministry is preparing the country to save water this summer, and has allocated ten million shekels for made-in-Israel water-saving devices in public buildings.
