IDF and Border Police forces on Saturday demolished the home of the terrorist Muhannad Halabi, in the village of Surda located adjacent to Ramallah in Samaria.
The mission was conducted under the command of the Binyamin Division, and was secured by the Shaked and Netzah Yehuda Battalions together with the Border Police.
Halabi's family home was demolished roughly three months after the terrorist conducted his lethal attack at the Lion's Gate of Jerusalem's Old City, murdering Rabbi Nehemia Lavi and Corporal Aharon Banita. It was one of the first attacks in early October that set off the current terror wave.
The terrorist stabbed Banita, at which point Rabbi Lavi tried to stop him but was caught by surprise and murdered, and then Halabi grabbed the rabbi's gun.
The 19-year-old Halabi also seriously wounded Banita's wife, and lightly wounded his two-year-old son. Banita's wife heroically ran for aid, while being taunted and assaulted by Arabs and ignored by an Arab medical clinic.
After she managed to report the murders to officers who were standing 50 meters from the site of the attack, they arrived and shot Halabi dead.
Halabi has since been turned into a hero by the Palestinian Authority, with memorials erected for him, and Arab students celebrating him as a "martyr."
