Former Israeli Security Agency (ISA) head MK Avi Dichter (Likud) said Friday he intends to ask Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein to launch a criminal investigation of the radical leftist activist Ezra Nawi, after an investigative report revealed how he has Palestinian Arabs killed by the Palestinian Authority (PA).
In an expose on Channel 2’s “Uvda” program that led to wide condemnation from nationalist MKs, right-wing activists infiltrated the leftist groups and caught Nawi on camera saying he gives the PA the names of Arabs who are interested in selling land to Jews.
He admitted that the PA then tortures and "kills them," showing he was aware he was handing them a death sentence given how the PA has long outlawed the sale of land to Jews in Judea and Samaria, and has made no secret of its position of executing Arab sellers.
"In the last week I was exposed to very serious materials on the covert activities of several organizations like Ta'ayush, B'tselem, Breaking the Silence and other organizations that pretend to be human rights organizations," said Dichter.
"Only some of them were broadcast yesterday in the investigative report of the 'Uvda' program, and that's only the tip of the iceberg. These are criminal activities that must be investigated by the police and the Shabak (ISA)."
Dichter said that "as someone who served for dozens of years in the security and intelligence forces, and as someone who was exposed to the documented materials, I have no doubt that the activities of Ezra Nawi, (Nasser) Nawajeh from B'tselem and others, are no different that the activities of Azmi Bishara who fled abroad in order to escape justice in Israel."
Bishara, a former MK and founder of the Balad party, fled to Qatar before he could be put on trial for his treachery in directing the missiles of Hezbollah to strike Israeli civilians during the 2006 Second Lebanon War.
The former ISA head noted that "the response of the B'tselem organization to the investigative report is like a rabbinical justification of murder."
Regarding the cooperation between the radical leftist groups and the PA Security Forces, Dicther said, "the creative and daring activities of the members of the Israeli 'Ad Kan' movement enabled an unprecedented glimpse, which showed how Israeli citizens aid the incrimination of innocent people and pass their names to the Palestinian security sources and Palestinian terror organizations - while fully aware they are handing them a death sentence."
Nawi, who is mostly active in the southern Har Hevron region of Judea, was born in Jerusalem to Jewish immigrants from Iraq, and is a fluent Arabic speaker.
He was arrested several times in the past, including for assaulting police officers, and also served half a year in jail for statutory rape over his sexual relations with a 15-year-old Palestinian boy in the early 1990s. He has also been revealed to be a supporter of Hamas.
