Three IDF soldiers were injured over the weekend after reportedly stealing an off-road military vehicle and going for a joyride.
The incident apparently occurred overnight Friday at a base in northern Israel. At around 3 a.m., a non-commissioned officer snuck into the base's parking lot with three soldiers and took the vehicle without permission.
According to Channel 2's report on Sunday, the car was used for security patrols on the base.
The four began to drive around the area, when the non-commissioned officer started driving crazily. At one point, as he went to make a right turn with the handbrake, the vehicle hit a tree on the left side of the lane.
The vehicle was immediately thrown to the right, and when the driver tried to stabilize it, the vehicle overturned on its left side.
As a result of the accident, the driver suffered serious head wounds. Two other passengers have been described as being in moderate and light condition. The fourth soldier was left unscathed.
The IDF is investigating the incident.
