An indictment was filed at the Be'er Sheva District Court Wednesday against an Arab minor who 12 days ago illegally entered sovereign Israeli territory armed with a kitchen knife.
According to the indictment, the 14-year-old from the Palestinian Authority made his way to a Jewish town in order to carry out a stabbing attack for nationalist reasons.
More specifically, the indictment charges, he wanted to kill Jews and become a "martyr."
On December 4, the defendant left a letter for his family asking forgiveness and saying goodbye, before leaving his home armed with the kitchen knife hidden under his coat.
After jumping the security fence at the Judea-Samaria border, the Arab was spotted by IDF forces, thwarting the attack.
The minor has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a knife and illegally entering Israeli sovereign territory. The prosecution requested he be kept in custody until the conclusion of proceedings against him.
