A Jerusalem Magistrates Court ruled today that Maariv newspaper editor Amnon Dankner slandered Kach activist Itamar Ben-Gvir - and ordered Dankner to pay Ben-Gvir one shekel. Judge Rafael Strauss ruled that Dankner\'s statement on a television talk show that Ben-Gvir was a \"dirty Nazi\" was forbidden slander. The judge explained, however, that because Ben-Gvir had extremist opinions, and because the slander was made during the heat of an on-air argument, and because the incident occurred six years ago, he is levying a fine of only one shekel on the defendant. Ben-Gvir said that the ruling was a clear message that \"whoever has mercy on the cruel [Arafat and PLO terrorists] will end up being cruel towards the merciful [Kach]...\" He also noted that Amnon Dankner has undergone a change of attitude in recent times, and \"it\'s likely that he would not have made the same anti-Kach remarks now.\"
