The Ministry of Education has begun a new initiative to take out 2,500 students living in areas affected by the recent wave of terrorism for uplifting activities.
The activities, designed for children and youth, already began during the Hanukkah holiday and included children's shows, cinema, experiential workshops, visits to heritage sites, museums, nature reserves and national parks.
The Ministry of Education stressed that the goal is to allow these students to leave their daily routine of security tensions, and enjoy a variety of fun activities and moral.
Communities affected by the wave of terrorism include: Kiryat Arba, Gush Etzion, south of Mount Hevron and the Hevron Jewish community.
Likewise, the Ministry of Education's psychological counseling service recently increased the response of psychological services provided to students and parents in these communities, in order to detect and treat emotional distress.
The Ministry of Education explained that Minister Naftali Bennett has explored these areas in recent times, and witnessed the situation of children and youth in the areas where the wave of terror hit frequently, and saw how this exposed them to distress, fear, and desire to take a break.
“This statement is not only educational, but morally valuable. There are places that the enemy sees value in harming them - and we see value in helping them. These students are brave, and it is the least that the education system can do for them," said Bennett.
