Two Jewish youths from Kiryat Arba were arrested late Saturday night after throwing rocks at an Israeli vehicle traveling near Elias Junction on Route 60.
A four and a half year-old boy was lightly injured by glass shards in his face and eyes. He was treated by medics from Kiryat Arba's emergency first response service.
Security forces opened an investigation and determined the Jewish youths intended to attack a Palestinian vehicle.
They were arrested by IDF soldiers and taken in for questioning at the police precinct in Hevron.
In a statement, the Israel Police said it "views harshly the rock-throwing incident which ended with a light injury and miraculously did not cause a disaster. An investigation will be opened against the suspects."
