MK Moti Yogev (Jewish Home) responded on Thursday morning to last night’s shooting attack near Avnei Hefetz which critically wounded Shaul Nir and lightly injured his wife Rachel.
"The shooting attack near the Avnei Hefetz in Samaria, among other things, was made possible as a result of the ease given to the Palestinian populace," Yogev charged.
"With daily stabbing attacks in Hevron, Jerusalem and elsewhere, it’s been made clear that unfortunately we still do not deter terrorists."
“This experience teaches us that the death of the terrorists does not deter other terrorists from acting upon their ideological or other beliefs," he continued.
"When a terrorist knows that his family will suffer, their home will be demolished, the land will be expropriated and purchased by the State of Israel, all the money transferred to family accounts to encourage terrorism will be confiscated, and his family will be deported, only then will we be able to deter potential terrorists”
"May I ask who is delaying carrying out all this to save people's lives?" Yogev pondered, before supplying his own answer - Israel's legal system.
"Its counsel, lawyers, and court justices keep delaying and preventing the necessary measures," he blasted.
"If the legal system keeps pitying terrorists and their families then the citizens of Israel suffer more from terror attacks, if so then we will have to replace legislation."
