The Prime Minister's wife, Sarah Netanyahu, is suspected of taking many official gifts that the Netanyahus received on state visits abroad, and from people and bodies inside Israel, and hoarding them for herself, according to a report on News1.

Channel 2 reported that allegations of a criminal nature against Mrs. Netanyahu were made by two employees who come in regular contact with her. The Attorney General will have to decide whether an official police investigation will be launched.

Mrs. Netanyahu allegedly collected the items instead of handing them over to the officials in the Prime Minister's Office who are supposed to receive them for safekeeping and registration.

News1 claimed that the number of gifts hoarded by Mrs. Netanyahu is estimated to be in the hundreds, and that many were placed in a hiding place outside the Prime Minister's Residence, because she intended to hold on to them indefinitely. The news site's editor, respected investigative journalist Yoav Yitzchak, added that he knows where the secret hiding place is.

Most of the items are inexpensive and estimated at "several tens of shekels" each, according to the report, but some of them are estimated to be worth hundreds of dollars.
