Winter weather will slowly return throughout the upcoming week, forecasters predict Sunday, with 30 mm (1.2 inches) of localized rains expected in northern and central Israel.
The rain will begin Sunday night, with the on/off rain typical for Israeli winters finally beginning Monday, meteorologists said Sunday morning.
Highs Sunday will reach 21°C (69.8°F) in Ma'alot and Katzrin, 23°C (73.4°F) in Nahariya, 17°C (62.6°F) in Tzfat (Safed), 24°C (75.2°F) in Tiberias, 21°C (69.8°F) in Nazareth, 21°C (69.8°F) in Haifa, 22°C (71.6°F) in Taibe, 19°C (66.2°F) in Ariel, 23°C (73.4°F) in Tel Aviv, 19°C (66.2°F) in Jerusalem, 24°C (75.2°F) in Beit Shemesh, 26°C (78.8°F) in the Dead Sea area, 23°C (73.4°F) in Rehovot, 23°C (73.4°F) in Ashkelon, 24°C (75.2°F) in Sderot, 21°C (69.8°F) in Arad, 24°C (75.2°F) in Be'er Sheva, 20°C (68°F) in Mitzpe Ramon, and 26°C (78.8°F) in Eilat.
Rains and high winds will begin Sunday night/Monday and continue until Tuesday afternoon, and are expected to be concentrated in coastal areas from northern Israel to the northern Negev. Temperatures will drop following the rainstorm.
