The army demolished three Arab buildings in the Kisufim area last night - structures that were used only hours beforehand by a terrorist who attempted to carry out a shooting attack against Israeli motorists (see above). The Supreme Court heard a petition by Arab MK Barakeh today against the demolition of other buildings there, and ruled that the army may raze buildings without giving 48-hour notice only if there is a clear and urgent military need.

Jewish residents say that destroying the buildings along on the lifeline entry into Gush Katif is simply a \"matter of life and death.\" They took local commander Lt.-Col. Malka - who killed one of the terrorists yesterday - to task for saying that there is no need to raze the buildings. \"We call upon him to take personal responsibility for whatever happens in the future, and to visit the family of Ahuva Amergi [the young mother who was murdered by terrorists who hid behind the buildings in question] and explain his position,\" residents said.

Some 100 youths from Gush Katif completed a three-day march today from Gaza to Jerusalem, on the occasion of the 30th day since the murder of Ahuva Amergi of Ganei Tal. They held a concluding ceremony at the Western Wall.

Three terrorists were eliminated in the course of the night in two separate attempted murders in Gaza. Early in the evening, an IDF force identified a two-man terrorist cell trying to place an explosive near the Gush Katif entry checkpoint. It took a chase of three hours, but the army forces finally managed to kill them. Before that, another IDF force eliminated an armed terrorist on his way to a shooting attack at Kisufim. Next to his body was found a Kalachnikov, bullets, and grenades.
