The Moledet Party, whose leader Rabbi Benny Elon succeeded Gen. (res). Rechavam Ze\'evi upon the latter\'s assassination last October, is engaged in a public relations campaign to promote its idea of \"transfer\" as the solution to the Israeli-Arab problem. The proposal calls for the transfer of Arabs out of Judea, Samaria, and Gaza and into Jordan, the \"original\" Palestine. A pamphlet distributed with this past weekend\'s Ma\'ariv newspaper notes that Dr. Fridtjof Nansen of Norway won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1922 for his idea to exchange populations between Greece and Turkey. The populations transferred in this manner numbered no less than 1.3 million Greeks and 400,000 Turks, each of whom returned to their respective homelands. For his work with refugees and helping successfully implement this idea, Dr. Nansen won the Nobel Peace Prize. For more information, see \"http://www.mnc.net/norway/Nansen.htm\".
The Moledet Party also quotes the late Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, in the book \"Chiefs of Staff Talk,\" on the topic of transfer:
\"Problems of this natures [the refugees] have been solved by moving populations... The Soviet Union brought about border changes in Eastern Europe, leading to the movement of population in the 30-millions [of people]... One of the examples of this was in Sudetenland, from which three million Germans were evacuated... Certainly we need not use force the way the Soviet Union did, but in my opinion we can bring about the movement of population in other ways.\"
