One of the biggest agents of incitement in the Palestinian Authority (PA) is top Fatah terrorist Jibril Rajoub.
On Monday, the Yesha Council sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon demanding that something be done about restraining Rajoub.
In a recent interview on Palestinian Authority TV, for example, Rajoub advocated murdering Jews in Judea and Samaria.
Actually, he told the interviewer, if not for world opinion it would be fine for Palestinians to blow themselves up on buses, at malls, etc. throughout Israel. But at least for now, he said, “the world will not accept bus explosions in Tel Aviv, so it is better we do not perpetrate those kinds of attacks.”
But the world would have no problem accepting – and even praising – attacks against “settlers,” so terrorists should concentrate on those, he added.
Palestinian schools already celebrate the lives of the “martyrs” - the terrorists who are killed while conducting attacks. Studying the last wills and testaments of these terrorists is a “very praiseworthy thing,” he added.
In the letter, the Council suggested that the IDF limit the freedom of movement of Rajoub and others like him.
“In recent weeks we have seen how incitement quickly turns into actions of murdering and injuring large numbers of Jews. Many Israelis feel that terror is raging in the streets. The government has done a good job of blaming Mahmoud Abbas for the incitement, but his model is also being followed by top PA officials. We have an obligation to do something about this immediately,” the letter added.
