An IDF soldier was moderately wounded in a stabbing attack in Hevron Saturday evening - the third such attack in the area today.
The attack took place at a security checkpoint. Security forces at the scene responded by shooting the terrorist, leaving him critically wounded.
Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics provided treatment to the soldier and evacuated him to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem for treatment.
The soldier was defined as suffering from moderate stab wounds to his upper body.
Minutes after the attack, angry Jewish residents gathered to block the road, preventing the ambulance carrying the injured terrorist from leaving the scene.
It was the second such attack inside Hevron itself today, after a terrorist attempted to stab a Jewish resident of the ancient city. The Jewish man managed to avoid injury, opening fire and killing the terrorist with his pistol.
Also on Saturday, a border police officer was lightly wounded in a stabbing in Kiryat Arba, next to Hevron. The officer responded quickly, shooting and killing his attacker, identified as a local Arab woman.
On Friday, an Arab terrorist posing as a photojournalist stabbed an Israeli soldier in Hevron, before being shot dead by security forces.
